Have you met Miss Beth?

For the last 27 years Miss Beth has trained and taught at a variety of dance studios across the country. She began her training in northern Colorado in ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop, and lyrical. For 7 years, Beth was the Artistic Director of The Academy of Performing Arts in Prescott, Arizona. In December of 2011, Beth made the to move to the valley and began her career in the Phoenix area Beth has taught and choreographed for many organizations in both Colorado and Arizona including high school/college cheer and pom teams, after school dance programs, charter schools, and a variety of musical casts. Her students have gone on to dance in college dance departments all over the country, private performing arts high schools, and on many professional dance teams (including the Denver Nuggets). Throughout Beth’s dancing career, she has consistently sought out training of her own travelling to workshops, master classes, and conventions in many cities including Phoenix, Denver, Los Angeles, New York City, Chicago, and Las Vegas.

Miss Beth currently teaches ballet, tap, jazz, and hip hop at Bricks Studio, and choreographs for the Bricks Company.

We recently interviewed Miss Beth to learn a little more about her that you might not know.

Question: What is your favorite ice cream flavor?

My Favorite ice cream flavor in mint chocolate chip.

Question: What is your favorite style of dance and why?

My favorite dance style changes all the time but right now I love ballet and contemporary. They are both so beautiful and challenging.

Question: If you weren’t dancing, what would you do?

If I am not dancing I love spending time outdoors hiking, biking, and running... I would also take more yoga classes.

Question: Who is your favorite dancer and why?

My favorite dancer is... Good ole Janet Jackson.  Who wouldn't love her? She was so intricate, smooth, and exciting to watch.  I still like YouTubing her old videos.  Those were my inspiration as a young girl.

Question: If you could dance anywhere for a day where would it be?

If I could dance anywhere for a day it would be in a show choreographed by Mia Michaels. Her choreography is so challenging both mentally, emotionally, and physically.  Plus they always have fantastic costumes!

We also asked Miss Beth for her playlist picks and here they are:

We’ve been so busy at Bricks, we haven’t had a chance to blog!

Can you believe it’s almost Halloween?! The last few months have flown by at Bricks. As our fall semester of dance classes have filled up the studio has been busy with Bricks Company auditions, the Company car wash and bake sale, master classes with Miss Ruth and the H2M Dance Crew, annual Pink Week, and a performance at the Herberger Theater.

Also, we have been busy updating our Facebook, tweeting the latest dance news, and pinning dance-spiration for our students. Make sure you stay in the loop by “liking” us on Facebook and following us on Twitter and Pinterest. We have some fun new blog posts coming up about our fabulous teachers, videos of performances, and playlist picks from classes that you won’t want to miss.

Below are a few photos from all that we have been up to so far this year.
